2012 Event Recap:
October 6th dawned as a beautiful fall day for the 2012 CAST event at Castaic Lake. The warm weather was welcomed by the 41 CAST participants who went out on the lake to fish from 28 boats. The event ran smoothly with the coordination of more than 100 volunteers, including DWR staff from Southern Field Division, Southern Region and Public Affairs, Friends of Castaic Lake, Castaic Lions Club and Castaic Lake staff.
The crowd was entertained by Daffy Duck, courtesy of nearby Six Flags Magic Mountain. Daffy assisted with the presentation of plaques and gift bags. Magic Mountain also offered two entry passes for a CAST participant raffle.
Volunteers assisted with registration, life jacket, bait, pole and tackle distribution and breakfast lunch preparation.
