Navajo Reservoir

By: Jere Ellenberger
Bureau of Reclamation

The Farmington Construction Office held its 8th annual CAST event at Navajo Lake on May 21, 2005. The event, as usual, was a huge success. Sixty-two kids showed up for the fun and excitement. Participation was shared by members of Special Olympics and the Boys and Girls Club. The Four Corners Bass Club was there in full support and the barbeque was hosted by Halliburton. The day was glorious. The Bureau of Land Management attended with their Law Enforcement group, Fire Crew and Smokey the Bear. A motivational presentation by Chad Nachtrieb was also shared. Chad was diagnosed by doctors as a quadriplegic after a tragic car accident. Three months later, Chad walked out of Craig Hospital. He now uses the experience to help motivate and inspire children and their families to reach inside themselves to achieve more than they think possible.
